The tactics behind the idiocy and what happens

Trump’s slogan, was first Reagan’s slogan. We are but actors on a stage and Trump utterly embodies stage-thinking into his life above all other principles. After all, much if not all the success in his life can be attributed to his salesmanship and brand-building (other than lies). Critiqued by the media for his simple vocabulary, it is this simplicity and repetition of main ideas in core words that make his speech more powerful than every other candidate. To be clear, he is clearly not very smart, screws up a lot, not upright, but he is no idiot. Logic tells u that there are simpler moves to make on the chessboard than those he makes. Thus on the joke moves made by Trump’s party, as the saying goes:

If you don’t get the joke, the joke is on you.

Pertaining to people, we like to villainize and heroize characters as it is in fictional stories when we know there are many facets to a person in life. And so it is this game that politicians play, crafting narratives and lies about every fact. Thus by default, one is missing the plot to believe either fictional character to be more morally righteous than the other. Be assured both parties go to extreme lengths to secure victory.

As it is written, there is not one righteous, no, not one

Trump has many strongly conservative aides (i.e. speechwriter Stephen Miller, Pompeo, Mnuchin) steering his ship. Many of Trump’s speeches can be mirrored to Reagan’s or Nixon’s, such as the former’s denouncing of the Voting Rights Act, the demand for law and order against the far left.

Trump’s policies have all been criticized. One should see that being objective, these policies are in the interests of the nation, and highly right-wing. Criticism for them only makes sense if one is highly left-wing (the execution is far from great, but like all U.S government policies are).

  1. Border security is important to any nation. Better solutions to flimsy walls though.
  2. The cold war with China. There is no argument against the self-preservation of a country‘s global standing. Confrontation, when the States is stronger, is the only right move. Every other move is against national interests.
  3. Reduce tax rates. Again, nations as competing entities.
  4. Space force
  5. Middle-East peace treaty. Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Issue of changing alliances.
  6. Reinforces right to pray in school
  7. Make abortion harder i.e. reinstate the ban on abortion counselling, fight aginst planned parenthood
  8. Pull out of WHO, failed influence (here n here). But perhaps a better way is to bribe better than China?
  9. Appoint conservative judges to replace the liberals Obama crowded the courts with. eg. elect conservative Amy Coney Barrett.
  10. Brought law and order to protests BLM ANTIFA etc.
  11. Rolling back green policies for votes and lobbyists. Do the ends justify the means? I disapprove.
  12. Covid handling? Not as bad as they portray (western country), but can do better.

The point is, based on party actions, which side of the line one stands should be dependent on how left / right one is, and that’s all. Not all that stuff about misinformation etc. The leftists have also generated lies about his Russian ties, Obama’s wiretapping, but these are swept under the rug. I believe many rightists can see the right-wing policies Trump has implemented and thus there are more silent voters than the media portrays (data concurs). Compare the spirit in a Trump rally against Democrat rally. Obama drew leftists 10 years ahead with his executive orders (i.e. gay-rights). Trump pulled the left-wing movements back a couple of years and seems to be the last stand for the right-wing. After this, parties will inevitably trend towards the left.

Predictions: Trump has a better than perceived chance of winning by electoral votes again. Trump’s moves are not directed only to his supporters but also meant to garner/ pressure votes from electorates. Fair? Depends on your belief in the optimal degree of democracy. Well, it was a needed solution in the past and total democracy is total anarchy. Regardless, in any game, all strategies should cater to the rules.

To conclude, one should always view what is done, not what is said. Trump is but the source and the medium, his party the source. To me, he has played his role out as the actor very well. Finally will the market care about which president gets elected? Nope. Will the static government be agile and change rapidly with a change of leadership? Nope. Is this the funniest and most entertaining president ever? Yes.

A general theme in politics: it's a dirty game. Do the ends justify the means? We all have to sleep on that.
